The Great Southern

The Great Southern: Wander Further

Cape2Camp Recommends

A region rich in raw beauty and big flavours — here’s where we love to linger after hiking the Bibbulmun. From local marron to cool-climate wines and oceanfront stays, this is Great Southern goodness, Cape2Camp-style.

A Wilder, Quieter Kind of Magic

When your Bibbulmun Track journey wraps, the Great Southern invites you to linger — and trust us, you’ll want to. This region breathes a slower rhythm. With its wild coastlines, ancient granite boulders, and deep karri forests, it feels untouched — like nature’s final encore after your hike. And then there’s the food, the wine, and the down-to-earth charm that turns a trip into a memory.

Taste the South

Fuel up with a farm-style lunch at The Marron Tale, where local marron steals the show, or raise a glass at Boston Brewing Co. — the perfect post-hike pint awaits. Wine lovers will want to drop into Singlefile Wines (a Cape2Camp fave included in our all-inclusive package) and Rockcliffe, where owner Steve might just pour you something special. Wash off the trail at Greens Pool, dip into Elephant Rocks, or take on Bald Head Walk Trail in Albany if your legs dare — adventure doesn’t end at the finish line.

Stay Close to the Magic

Whether it’s ocean-view comfort at Hayscape or the heritage charm of William Bay Cottages, this is where nature meets nurture. The Denmark IGA has all your gourmet supplies sorted, and our Cape2Camp tips will make sure you’re dialled in. Because that’s what we do — we get you walking, keep it simple, and then step back so you can discover WA’s treasures, your way. The Great Southern isn’t just a place — it’s a pace. Wild, quiet, unforgettable.

Recently completed the Great Southern trip along the Bibbulmun track, from Denmark to Peaceful Bay. What an incredible experience! Having completed large parts of the Bibbulmun with a heavy pack on my back, this was a ‘weightless’ experience over an absolutely stunning part of the track. No need to carry a tent, sleeping bag, food, etc – just a day bag with my raincoat and pre-made lunches (+ a few goodies). It felt like a treat – after a day’s hike, a swim in the ocean, a wine & cheese platter followed by home-made bread with hearty stew, I would sleep like a baby looking forward to the next day’s adventure. A truly great way to be introduced to the track if you want to experience it, with all the trimmings!

Cape2Camp makes a 3-day hiking trip the best it ever could be. From the tent setup with fluffy doonahs to the delux camp chairs with granny blankets, the delicious food and coconut water, and all the helpful advice provided prior to and during the trip… Cape2Camp totally delivers. I did another 3 day walk a few months after the Cape2Camp trip, and all the planning, logistics and carrying of gear made me soooo appreciative of Cape2Camp and the service they provide. Thank you for making a spectacular walking trail even more special Cape2Camp!🙏

This is such a great set up! I would never have done this walk if it wasn’t for the support of cape2camp. Loved that it was self guided and it was a big group of us, friend’s & family!! Camp sites are unique. Food is great. The hike itself is stunning! We booked the 3 days option. Very doable, but also tired at the end. We all did it with no training. Highly recommend Cape2Camp!
